Wolves’ top-flight status has been underlined with the raising of the Premier League pennant at Molineux.
Record goalscorer Steve Bull had the honour of putting one of the final pieces of the Premier League jigsaw in place.
It is the first summer step to becoming a fully-fledged Premier League outfit and fans’ excitement is set to build, ahead of the fixtures being released on Wednesday,June 17.
Bully said: “It makes things more official, because we have waited such a long time for it to happen.
“Now it’s down on paper and we’re raising the flag. There’s no football going on at the moment, so it keeps the excitement going ahead of all the big games next season.
“Wolves were deserved winners of the Championship last season and I think we’re all really excited to see just how they will do in the top flight.
“I think Mick McCarthy will be looking to bring in proven Premier League talent, but the squad has shown already that it has real quality and will give anyone a game.
“Next season will just be fantastic for the fans and they deserve a great season after their support.”
McCarthy’s side head Down Under to Australia at the start of next month for their pre-season tour.
They play Perth Glory and Queensland Fury before returning home for domestic friendlies at Walsall, Bristol City, MK Dons, Doncaster and Scunthorpe.
The only chance fans have to see McCarthy’s team at Molineux is the match against Spanish La Liga outfit Real Valladolid on Saturday August 8.
