Time to map out a plan for Villa's future

Football club in shock rescue
Tuesday 2nd June 2009, 5:29PM BST.
Debt-ridden Willenhall Town FC has been given a reprieve after creditors accepted a last-ditch rescue plan.
Fears were rife for the club’s future over debts, including a sum of around £60,000 owed to Marston’s brewery.
But a business plan put together by a newly-formed committee has been agreed and the club has been given the go-ahead to continue operating under receivership.
Jason Potts, aged 39, has been installed as vice-chairmen of the committee, which will attempt to “steady the ship” over the coming weeks before an annual meeting is held.
He said the Noose Lane-based club was in the unusual position of being in receivership but of continuing to make money.
“We’re obviously really happy that Willenhall Town has survived, because it’s really important to the local community,” he said.
“Now we just need to do to the things a football club should do. We can’t live the dream anymore. It’s going to mean us tightening our belt and budgeting sensibly.
“We’ve got to set about talking to our creditors and getting things sorted.”
He said the club had permission to continue playing in the Unibond League Division One South.
