Kidderminster striker Stefan Moore is set to turn down the offer of a new deal and leave Aggborough this summer.

The former Villa and Walsall forward confirmed he is one of only a clutch of players to be offered a new contract for next season, but will not sign for the money that the Blue Square Premier club have put on the table.

Moore came to the club as a free agent last September with great pedigree, with 22 first-team appearances for boyhood club Villa in the Premier League.

But the brother of Albion striker Luke has spent most of the season on the bench, struggling to dislodge the most potent strike partnership in the league in Matthew Barnes-Homer and Justin Richards.

Now Barnes-Homer has yet to sign the new deal he has been offered, while Richards has not been offered anything at all as yet.

So the stage was set for Moore to make his mark on the team in the season ahead.

But he is far from impressed with what is on offer from manager Mark Yates.

The striker said: “What Kidderminster have offered me is not what I am looking for, so I don’t think that is going to be happening to be honest with you. I have other irons in the fire, a few things lined up so I am just waiting to see what direction I go in.

“When I signed last season, it was under the agreement that things might get a little better for me in the summer, but that is not how it is looking because of the financial problems at the club.

“I wouldn’t completely rule out staying where I am, but they would have to come up with a slightly better deal than what is on offer.

“But I think that the manager’s hands are tied at the moment.”

Moore has also expressed a desire – should he move on – to stay relatively close to his Birmingham home.

He added: “I don’t want to move out of Birmingham really, that is where my family is and where I am settled. But I will listen to offers, I just want clubs to know that I am available.

“I will wait for a few weeks, go off on holiday and see where I go from there.”
