Two Wolverhampton stylists are showing they are a cut above the rest by winning through to the finals of a top national hairdressing competition.
Amy Bradley, aged 20 from Wakeman Court, Essington and Jess Williams, 21, of Ludstone Avenue, Penn are among only 36 people from throughout the UK to reach the last stage of the young talent category in the prestigious Wella Professionals Trend Vision Award 09.
The pair work together at Zaks Hairdressing in School Street and are the best of a friends away from the salon.
Amy said: “This is absolutely brilliant. We are both over the moon and so proud to have done so well.
“We both have a passion for hair and are very excited by the prospect of competing against the best hairdressers in the country.
“Our friendship would not have been affected if only one of us had won through, but it is marvellous that we are both in the final and will be supporting each other all the way.”
They had to develop new hair styles and clothes to match. They each produced creations inspired by Manga cartoon characters.
The regional heats were held in Kenilworth and the UK final takes place in London in September with the winner going on to contest the international crown.
