Henry urged to net more goals

Chris Iwelumo has urged Wolves midfielder Karl Henry to hit the goal trail next season to improve on his one weak spot.
Henry, 26, has agreed a new four-year contract to pledge the best years of his career to his home-town club as they prepare to embark on their Premier League adventure.
But the man who knows him best at Molineux reckons Henry needs to sharpen up his shooting after failing to score during the Championship-title-winning season when he played 43 League games.
“If there’s one thing he maybe needs to improve – and I’ve said this to his face – it’s in chipping in with a few goals because he’s certainly more than capable of that,” said Iwelumo, who has known Henry for almost a decade since their time together at Stoke.
“But he’s certainly a potential Premier League player and will be looking forward to getting going in August.” Having pinpointed Henry’s one weakness, Iwelumo is keen to stress his team-mate’s strengths and insists the midfield anchorman is one of several unsung heroes in Mick McCarthy’s squad.
“Everyone in the dressing room knows what Karl’s about – we see him train every day and we know how good a player he is,” said Iwelumo.
“There are all sorts of players like that at Wolves who maybe don’t always get the plaudits but are vitally important.
“The likes of Andy Keogh, in what he does and how hard he works for the team, or maybe Neill Collins and Jody Craddock who are really solid and consistent.
“There may have been times when myself and Sylvan were getting the headlines for the goals we scored but we all know just how important the team ethic is.”
Boss McCarthy believes Henry has richly deserved his new contract.
“Karl has been a big player for the club from the day he walked through the door. He’s been a regular in the team and captain for long periods and has been fantastic.”
