Cannock children book up ideas

Friday 29th May 2009, 7:00PM BST.

kids1A new book encouraging families across Cannock Chase district to take part in healthy activities has been published.

Eighteen families worked with Cannock Chase Council’s Arts Development team, Cannock Chase Children’s Centre and South Staffordshire Primary Care Trust to come up with fun activities for parents to do with their children.

The book is a result of their hard work over the last couple of years.

Called The Good Life, the ring-bound is packed with fun and healthy activities to do both indoors and outdoors, a section on healthy eating and some of the best places to visit for a fun day out.

The book is now with health visitors, early-years teachers and other health and education professionals, and will also be available in libraries.

Susan Wadsworth from Heath Hayes, who worked on the project with her four-year-old daughter Tia, said: “The Good Life changed my life.

“It’s been brilliant and I hope it helps lots of other parents now. The project has given me the get-up-and-go to get out there and try new things.”
