Megson heading queue for Robbo

Bolton are poised to lead the chase for Albion’s Paul Robinson after the defender was given permission to leave the Hawthorns for the right price.
The 30-year-old left-back, who has a year on his contract plus 12 months’ option, is available after being allowed by boss Tony Mowbray to leave this summer following relegation to the Championship.
Robinson, who has been with the Baggies for six years, feels he will be on his way this summer – with an extended stay in the Premier League firmly on his mind.
He said: “I can’t face playing in the Championship again and I feel I’ve proved myself in the Premier League.
“I’ve always given 100 per cent for West Brom but I feel I need to be playing in the top-flight every week.
“If a chance became available for me I would like to take it. I’ve spoken to the manager and he understands my position.”
Bolton boss Gary Megson is believed to be keen on a reunion with Robinson, who he signed for Albion in a £250,000 move from Watford in October 2003.
Robinson earned cult status from the Birmingham Road End for his whole-hearted approach.
But he has become an increasingly controversial figure, splitting opinion this season with his performances, while he also broke rank in an impassioned speech doubting the commitment of some of his team-mates.
The former Watford man appeared in 35 of Albion’s 38 Premier League games this season, in a total of 214 league appearances for the Baggies since his move from the Hornets.
