A bungalow in a Wolverhampton suburb bought from the ill-gotten gains of a drugs baron has gone on the market for £99,950 – half the price he paid.

Christopher Reid, nicknamed Yardie, built a property empire around the Black Country by acting as a Mr Big of the drugs world. He was planning to move into the detached property in Castlecroft when he was arrested for conspiracy to supply heroin, crack, cocaine and cannabis.
Estate agents Connells today revealed 10 cash offers had already been made on the bungalow, most over the asking price.

Reid, who is serving a 13-year sentence following a trial last November, had secured planning permission to knock down the house at 103 Windmill Lane for which he paid £200,000.
The 34-year-old, of Julian Road, Eastfield, had grand plans to build a two-storey house with pillars on the front and a conservatory at the back, but work was halted after his arrest and all his assets, including seven other other homes, were frozen.
The repossessed property, on a generous plot opposite The Firs Inn pub, has lain untouched for 18 months. Connells describe it as in need of “full refurbishment”.
A spokesman said: “Every other call we are getting is for the Windmill Lane bungalow.
“Unfortunately the building is too dangerous to take people round, and any internal inspections are at people’s own risk,” he added.
