Willenhall Town FCReceivers could be called in to debt-ridden Willenhall Town Football Club.

Club bosses have been given a deadline of next Friday May 29 to pay a £60,000 debt, before Marston’s Brewery calls in receivers.

Committee members have estimated that the club’s actual debts could be double that figure.

The club’s website read: “This places the the future of Willenhall Town FC in grave doubt.”

“Willenhall Town FC Committee, consisting of members elected at the last AGM, have reconvened with the intention of representing the club patrons, supporters and members during this time of crisis and initiating moves which will see the club put rightfully back in the hands of its members.

“This involves taking the club forward on the back of a viable and sensible business lan designed to honour the club’s debts while remaining transparent in all financial dealings.”
