The National Sea Life Centre in Birmingham has had to get in a stock of anti-seasickness bracelets after complaints about queasiness from audiences in its new 4-D cinema.

Images of giant waves that seem to crash into the auditorium, combined with special effects like seat vibrations and water spray are spelling problems for some audience members.

Manager Joseph Mann said that the new attraction’s developers may have been a little too successful in their efforts to create the illusion of an adventure on and beneath the high seas. The centre has now had to erect a warning sign and offer the bracelets to quell feelings of nausea.

Mr Mann said only six people had reported their symptoms but suspects many more would have been too embarrassed to say anything.
