Molineux ticket prices rise by 30 per cent

Monday 4th May 2009, 11:31AM BST.

Wolves have announced price rises of over 30 per cent for season tickets for the Premier League.

The new prices apply to those fans who failed to renew under the Early Bird scheme.

In the Early Bird scheme adults paid £370 to sit behind the goals. The same seats will now cost £493 for existing season ticket holders – a 33 per cent rise – and £522 for new applicants.

Around 14,400 fans renewed under the Early Bird – around 82 per cent of the 17,745 season ticket holders. Molineux’s most expensive seat is £630 in the Billy Wright Stand upper tier for new adult applicants. But under-12s can still buy one for £135 in the Family Enclosure. Existing holders who didn’t renew under the Early Bird scheme can renew their current seats from tomorrow at 9am, and they will be reserved until 5pm on Friday, May 29.

There will be a ceiling for season ticket sales to allow for the necessary percentage of away fans and to ensure a certain number of seats remain available on matchdays.

Matchday prices will be announced during the summer. Tickets can be renewed in person at the ticket office, via telesales on 0871 222 1877, online at www.wolves.co.uk or by post.

Are these price increases to cover the cost of Jez’s bonus?

Disgraceful increases in the middle of a recession and taking advantage of fans. Morgan and Moxey should be ashamed of themselves.

    Ohdearbobwolf!

So what exactly do you suggest the prices should be then bobwolf?
Lower income means lower salaries, means lower quality players. The opposite applies too.
Of course, you don’t have to go to the match! Did you go this season?

After seeing what the club did for the fans yesterday with the big screen in West Park, I thought to myself ‘this is a club that looks after it’s fans’ but after reading that they’re putting the prices up, that doesn’t appear to be the case.

why are you all having a go at bobwolf? he’s right this is a huge increase and not a good way to repay the fans who have put up with championship football for so long! it is now more expensive to sit in the southbank than in the kop or the streford end, who can honestly justify that!!

Not sure how much the club really makes from this – e.g. if 10000 seats sold at £10 extra every is £100000 a game (not all profit) = £2M a season = 5% of TV money. Don’t mind as long as they come down again if …. (no let’s not go there!)
6 – most expensive in Prem lol – most London clubs start over £1000

I dont think its a bad thing to be onest if we want to be up there with the likes of liverpool, chelsea, arsenal, man utd, we have got to pay our way. just think all our money is going into the club to pay for the some of the new players we bring in so i dont mind.

unfortuante, but not unexpected,no longer a working class escape. So u think the Prem will be value for money?Players wages are ruining the game. The tv money wont last forever.

Look at Wigans season tickets for next year all under £300.00,if they can do it why cant we.There will be a lot of dissapointed fans who will not be able to buy tickets this year because of the reccession.
