Birmingham are promoted to the Premier League after finally pulling out all the stops at the Madjeski Stadium.
Veteran striker Kevin Phillips was the star of the show and got Blues rolling with a hand in the 18th minute opener, playing in Keith Fahey to score outside of the box.
Phillips left the St Andrew’s club with one firm foot in the Premier League by scoring the second in the 59th minute, Fahey turning provider and ‘SuperKev’ with the clincial finish.
Marek Matejovsky made for a tense finale by pulling back a goal 60 seconds later, by turning in Dave Kitson’s assist.
But Blues held on to claim second and automatic promotion, while the home side join Sheffield United, Burnley and Preston in the play-off’s.

Congrats to Blues for making it a Midlands 1-2 lets hope we can both stay there and Albion can bounce straight back.About time the Midlands competed with the Manc’s.Northeast etc.Malagablue Zulu how about some poitives for once.

Well done Blues from the Baggies. Hope you and Wolves stay there and we can get back. Those that remember the sixties will know how great it was to have all our teams in top division. Let’s make Midlands football a power again.
