Vokes so proud to be title winner

Wolves striker Sam Vokes reckons he’s so proud to be a Championship winner that he won’t take his medal off all summer.
The 19-year-old Welsh international has had an impressive first season at the club, scoring eight goals in all competitions despite making just seven starts.
Now the youngster is relishing the chance to join the title parade around Molineux for Sunday’s curtain call against Doncaster.
He said: “It’s going to be an unbelievable feeling – to be taking a medal will be a great feeling and I don’t think I’ll it off all summer.
“I think I’ll come back with a suntan complete with white bits where the medal has been!”
For Vokes, the journey also completes a sharp upturn in fortunes after he was relegated to League Two with Bournemouth just 12 months ago.
He said: “I couldn’t have dreamt of this time last year when Bournemouth were relegated and went into administration.
“I don’t think it will properly sink in until next season really when we’re travelling to the big clubs. ”
Vokes is hoping to start this Sunday with three strikers injured in Sylvan Ebanks-Blake, Chris Iwelumo and Andy Keogh, who went off with a knock to his right knee in the title-clinching 1-1 draw against Barnsley.
