Police officers injured by thugs
Monday 27th April 2009, 11:30AM BST.
A woman police officer was knocked unconscious then kicked and punched as she lay on the floor while two of her colleagues were also attacked and left injured by thugs outside a Black Country pub.
The three officers on patrol went over to talk to a group of 12 men outside the Milestone Pub in New Invention, Willenhall, when they were attacked at around 12.30am on Saturday morning.
One female officer was struck from behind and knocked unconscious before suffering a sustained beating where she endured kicks and punches while she was on the floor.
During the attack a male officer received a broken hand. Four men were arrested. While the men were being taken to the station another female officer was cut by glass.
All officers received treatment in hospital.
