It’s the sight Wolves fans will be dreaming of next season – the Barclays Premier League trophy was in the city to give supporters a glimpse of what awaits in football’s top flight.

The four stone trophy was on show at Barclays in Queen Square as part of an international tour. Fans got the chance to have their picture taken with the trophy and make a donation to Acorns children’s hospice.

The 2ft 5ins tall cup, which is officially listed as ‘priceless’, was made in 2004 when Barclays took over sponsorship of the Premier League. Arsenal fan Zenab Farhan, aged 20, from Compton, who is studying marketing at the University of Wolverhampton, said: “It’s nice and bigger than I thought it would be.”
