Craddock hoping for new deal

Captain Jody Craddock is hoping his experience can land him one last Premier League hurrah with Wolves.
The defender turns 34 in July and his contract expires again this summer.
Craddock is the only outfield survivor of Wolves’ spell in the top flight in 2003/04, when the team were relegated.
He is hoping his case will be looked upon favourably by boss Mick McCarthy, after a string of impressive displays since returning to the side at the end of January.
The centre-half said: “My contract is up at the end of the season and I’m waiting to see what happens with that, but experience is important in the Premier League so we’ll wait and see what the gaffer does.
“I’m hopeful but you never know. Until I’m told ‘yes’ or ‘no’, I’ll just keep hoping.”
Winning a new deal would complete an amazing transformation for the former Sunderland stopper, who dropped to fifth choice defender at one stage behind Richard Stearman, Michael Mancienne, Neill Collins and Jason Shackell and was considering loan moves to League One clubs.
Craddock said: “I was injured for 15 weeks with my foot, then got back training and had to work my way back into the team.
“That’s how it goes sometimes but I’m glad to be back and playing.”
He believes he has developed a promising understanding with central defensive partner Christophe Berra.
The pair have helped clinch six clean sheets in 11 games, since being first paired up in the 2-2 draw against Cardiff on February 22.
Craddock said: “I’d like to think I have helped him. I’ve got some experience and played a few games and hopefully we’ve got a half-decent partnership.”
