As an expatriot Wulfrunian who, as a boy, avidly followed the fortunes of our great teams of yesteryear. I am tickled pink about the fortunes of the current incarnation of the Wolves. Fantastic season.
Now for the tough job of staying up. In my mind the Wolves have always naturally there alongside Man. Utd, Liverpool, et al.
But for now enjoy the moment. Greetings from Southern Oregon.

Fantastic job. Well done to all players that have pulled the shirt on this season. Well done MM. Thank you Steve Morgan. Well done Jez Moxey. I think lessons have been learned and I think there will be new players coming in to help us stay in the top flight. Steve Morgan wants to welcome Liverpool to the Molineux every year and I’m sure he wants to send them home with their tail between their legs. This is a great club with great traditions and they deserve to be up in the premier. What a great season. Knowing we are up means the planning can be started. we will have a head start on other teams and that is so much better than last time. Congratulations to Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Well done The Wolves!
I couldn’t get to the match today, as I live near Skegness and have had other commitments.
As a native of Staffordshire, I’ve been a Wolves supporter for 42 years and have seen the ups and the downs, including three victorious Wembley finals and the Cardiff play-off final. This, though, is the club’s greatest achievement since we were last in the ‘old’ First Division. Let’s ensure that we stay there and give the boring and predictable ‘big four’ a nasty shock. Now we will again be rubbing shoulders with the big boys and we must beat them. We are a big club and we belong in the top flight, so we must prepare and spend wisely. I have the confidence that we will do just that.
Now for the Championship title.
What a fantastic day!!!
Well done the lads and Mick and his team from all your fans down here in Devon. Enjoy the celebrations this evening

Fantastic!!!
I have been an active Wolves supporter for 42 years and have seen all of the highs and the lows since that first game in 1967, when we had just gained promotion from the ‘old’ second division. This automatic promotion, however, ranks as the greatest recent achievement.
I am a teacher and my students are always asking which football team I support, expecting my answer to be one of the ‘predictable big-four’. When I tell them I support Wolves, they generally give me a rather odd look. Well, now they will sit up and take notice. We are a big club and we belong in the top flight. Let’s ensure that we stay there.
My congratulations go to Mick McCarthy and the whole squad. Well done!
Now for the difficult bit!

Congratulations from a Finnmark Sami! Well done! I cried and cried… Probably more than a baby! It was hard the last seasons to hang around play-off, but to lead almost all this season was even harder… Thank you to the team, and thank you to McCarthy. And a special thank to SEB, without discrediting the rest of the team that feed him so good. The summer is normally not due before the beginning of June here, but despite the snow this year it came today… Played Wolves colors at school as a little boy from the beginning of the 70s. Well done to the Wolves players and especially Mick, worked hard all season, through ups and downs and now we have finally got their, fully deserved.
I was at the game today, got onto the pitch, crazy scenes, loved every minute, hope the lads have a good time tonight and relax.
Tough season for us next, bring in some more technical and experienced players and I think we can stay up.
The likes of Foley, Jarvis, Kightly, Ebanks-Blake will definetly make the step up, not 100% sure on the others. Only time will tell.
Up the Wolves!

A lot of heroes made it happen, thanks to all the team, and even Mick deserves his congrats, in spite of several managerial lapses.

E&S says: Promotion sees Wolves seal a second spell in the top flight of English football -where were you in the 50s? 60s? 70s? Are Wolves not a great English football club with a great history? Or is anything before Sky’s “premier league” now irrelevant and written out? The previous season in Premier was miserable and totally un-enticing – it’s all about money and surviving amidst mediocrity – not exactly glory-land. But McCarthy’s done a top job and they’ve recovered their resilience well to close out the season – well done!

I saw my first first team game in May 1949 & we beat Birmingham 6-1, how sweet that same result would have been a few weeks ago.
Congrats to Mick and the team on reaching the Premier League and doing it in the right way with good young players.
Now we have the opportunity to establish Wolves back in the top flight, Berra and Mancienne in defence, a top quality defensive midfielder, another top quality Ebanks-Blake, we can but dream, but maybe Mick can make the dreams come true!
Stan Cullis would be so proud of this achievement, come on you Wolves.

A truly fantastic day as promotion was clinched 50 years to the day Wolves won the 1958-59 League Chamnpionship with a 5-0 win over Luton Town.

I wanted the lads to seal it today as I’m off to Iraq before the end of the season and wanted to be there in person to enjoy the atmosphere (and the fans were superb today).
Although SEB will rightly take the credit for the goal, it was a real team performance with unsung heroes like Jody Craddock and Karl Henry having outstanding games.
Well done to Mick and all of the players who have contributed throughout the season and deserve to be crowned champions.

Congratulations to everyone connected with the team AND ESPECIALLY TO THE PLAYERS AND THE FANS. As a Wolves supporter since 1959, I have followed the ups and downs. I will admit to being critical and concerned about our ability to hold on next season based upon what I have seen on TV in the USA.
But today is a cause for celebration and I for one will give 100% support to the Club next season. I hope the owner follows through and provides the necessary resources to the Management to ensure that we not only keep our place but show the more established Clubs that we can compete. Being “young and hungry” is all well and good but the young talent on the squad will need support from experienced Premiership level players in key positions.

Over the past three seasons we have seen the benefits of our owner and Chief Exec refusing to give way to knee-jerk reactions, and I hope that we as fans will learn the lesson.
Whenever we have lost a match we have seen many negative remarks made by some so-called fans, some of whom have called for Mick McCarthy to be sacked. The amazing thing about some of them is that they have happened during spells where we have been top of the league. Thank goodness we have folks at the top of our club who can watch the manager on a day to day basis, and keep faith with him.
Mick McCarthy came in when Glenn Hoddle walked out a couple of weeks before the 2006/7 season, and asked us to give him three seasons to gain promotion to the Premier League. His first season was amazing, and he took a cobbled together side to the play-offs when we expected a dogfight against relegation.
The second season was a difficult one, and was again an example of not giving way to knee-jerk reactions. Mick dared to not play Freddie Eastwood, and was continually lambasted for it. Cries of “You don’t know what you’re doing” resounded at Molineux. Many lesser men would have given way, and played Freddie. Mick was thankfully stronger than that, and knew that Freddie wasn’t up to what he was looking for. Have the Freddie fans or Mick been proven right? Well, Freddie has been played regularly by Coventry, and he hasn’t come up with 20 goals.
This season has seen more knee-jerk cries for Mick to drop certain players. Collins, Ward, Keogh, Kights (at times) Jarvis, Stearman, Hennessey, Ikeme and others have been singled out for unfair criticism this season, but each has played some positive part in achieving what we have achieved today.
Muppetout, Malta wolf, Tony and Bridget, Wolvewolves, Superstardj and others insulted those of us who dared to support Mick. (They are no doubt using new names to hypocritically sing the praises of Mick and the players now.) Mick has stuck by his guns, and we have now made it to the “Promised Land.” Maybe, just maybe, he was right, and does know what he is doing.
Next season will be a difficult challenge, but I still believe we have the right man to keep us up. People point to his failure to keep Sunderland up when he took them up. Could anyone have done that on four or five million pounds? Well, the one ex-player that questioned his abilities spent twenty times that as Sunderland manager, and didn’t take the Prem by storm. Can I ask that we give Mick and the team our support in the Prem, and not overreact if we lose a few games whilst we adjust to life up there. That we will face a fight to stay up is certain. It’s always difficult for those that go up. We will need to spend, and I hope the board will give Mick a chance to work his magic. I hope we will show our support in the same way we sang out our lungs out when we lost 6-0 to Southampton. That lack of knee-jerk reaction led to us being able to sing in the same way, as we celebrated the joys of today.

To all the Wolves fans in Britain and abroad, congratulations to Mick McCarthy, his staff, players and ownership. Fantastic achievement in getting back to the Premier League. Today’s win brought back great memories for me as an ex Wolves player, when we got promoted in 1967, just like then, this outstanding achievement is overdue and more than well deserved. Congratulations to all concerned – including the fans who’ve spent a fortune supporting them! My family is spread – in the US, Spain and all parts of the UK but there will not be a dry eye in any of their households! As to whether we can stay up – as they say, BRING IT ON! You have to be in it to win it! As long as we spend money wisely to strengthen the team I can see us staying there. Can’t wait to buy a new shirt since I’m still wearing the last Prem shirt. Said I wouldn’t buy another till we got back there – and the time has come! YIPPEE!!

Can’t really find words to express my delight at what the boys and of course Mick have achieved this season in when many pundits were predicting at the start we wouldn’t even make the play-offs! Well done Mr Morgan, thanks for your financial backing – long may it continue(it will need to!). I’m sorry but at the moment my jury is still out on Jez as he presided over our rapid fall from grace last time but I won’t criticise at this momentous time – just get your sums right this time!!

This is the real deal with prospects of becoming an established Premiership Club.

I had the privilege of twice being at Molineux to see Wolves against Middlesbrough in the Premiership and Sheffield Wednesday this season.I started following Wolves in 1956 when I was in Mauritius and now I am in Paris – France for the last 34 years.
So what a splendid day to see us again in the Premiership as Wolves have almost led from start to finish which in itself is a great feat because the team is still young and that certain areas need to be strenghtened if we are to look for a stable situation. So I think that the board will this time take the necessary steps to ensure that Wolves will have the players to maintain their place in that very demanding league.
So congratulations to whole of the players, board, staff and the fans as well as the city of Wolverhampton which again are in the limelight after our last winning treat at the Millenium – Cardiff. May this time we are able to offer a real fight to stay where we belong. A big thank you to all who have done us proud again.

I have lived in the States for the past 18 years but still get to see Wolves play at least once a year. I was at Wembley in 74, 80 and 88 and, like so many others, stuck with the boys through the very desperate times of the mid-80′s. We are a big club and I feel that this is our chance to finally establish a foothold in the Premiership. There is a framed picture in my lounge of Mick McCarthy and I before this season’s Accrington Stanley game. I told him what a great job he was doing and he seemed genuinely appreciative because he was getting undeserved stick from many fans and the local media. He deserves a ton of thanks and praise from all Wolves fans everywhere. Enjoy these heady times but remember to stick with the lads in what will be a very trying and tough season in 09/10- together we can do it!

Anyway, I was so, so delighted. Like a daydream. You’ve done the fans proud and you should pat yourselves on the back – team and all management and backroom staff. A dream come true.
In the meantime, all fans should – like myself – get to a download site and buy an MP3 of ‘Wonderful Wolves’ – if enough of us do so, we could celebrate with a chart hit. Pass it on!!! :)

The feeling for me at the full time whistle was one of relief, excitement and just sheer joy. For me it even beats the feeling from Cardiff because after sitting top of the perch for so long it would have been heart breaking if the wheels had fallen off and we`d missed out on automatic promotion.
Now lets learn from mistakes made from our previous promotion and back Sir Mick and first get stability in the Premiership and then….who knows !!

congratulations to all at wolves, now pick up the championship next week and play to impress as from now every player will be under scrutiny for a place in the side next season.
pick up at least three new forwards and two more defenders, rid yourselves of your on loan players, and with the help of outside interests wolves must raise a minimum of 80 million to set up as a force in the premiership.
unless we can raise this money and buy the experience needed, the only alternative will be to sell Ebanks-blake….and that would be unthinkable.
For god’s sake don’t repeat our performance a few seasons back under Jones…
Wolves must never leave the Premiership again…Wolves mean everything to so many.

I’m so pleased for everyone at the molineux this promotion truly is thoroughly deserved, the players have really put there hearts into this club as has the superb manager and the fantastic board and chairman, also the fans its great to see all the fans turning up through the thick and thin, the people around me and the billy wright have been around me for the past three seasons it really shows the true commitment and loyalty of the fans, even if we do have quite a few moaners. Through all of the past three seasons i have truly enjoyed every second, even if it was nervy and sometimes scary.
I hope we can show those glory hunting scum that a real club with a real fan base can do well at top flight, for me this season every player has showed true passion and desire to succeed, but i really want to congratulate Stephen ward i feel he was given a very hard task this season and he passed with flying colours and saved us when we needed him and of course the unforgettable Kevin Foley he has put in a spectacular performance every game, and he is a true wolves legend.
I would also like to give a huge thanks to Mick he has turned this squad into a really great squad of some young hungry stars and some experienced legends.
Now come on wolves lets show this premier league how hungry us wolves really are!!

At the beginning of the season i said to my dad, we’d be top by christmas and unbeaten. Well the first part was right, but i wasn’t bothered by the fact we got beaten we just have to look where the team that beat us is now….around about 5th? and unlikely to make an immediate return.
All i ask now, is that Merlin gets the backing he needs to sign the players HE wants. I for one would try and get mancienne back…permanently and cover for the wings, we didn’t have enough this season.
would £50 million be too much to ask?
UP the wolves.
Congrats Merlin, you finally became the magician you said you weren’t.

Being a season Ticket Holders we were really disspointed to miss our one match this season on Saturday-We were at a family wedding – the only good thing was that they were mostly Albion supporters- and down to every one of them they congtratulated us on promotion.I first started supporting the Wolves in 1953 so some 56 years of support – during those times i have known the Tops and the Bottoms of Football( during those years we won the league twice and the FA cup and also nearly went out of the league)All at Molineux should thank Sir Jack and now Steve Morgan Jez and Mick for their guidance back to the Prem. We all know it will be hard but with support from the Board and the Fans there is no reason why we cannot re establish ourselves in the Top Flight. Our wish now is for Birmingham City to Join us and hopefully WBA the season after that.Midlands football needs us all to be there.

Fantastic! I’m glad I didn’t have to run through the emotions of failed play-offs this year too…
Good luck in the Premiership!

Congratulations to the Wolves on a superb season. By far the best team in the Championship, had a rough patch but came through it and in the end, promotion fully deserved.
I think, with good backing from the chairman, you’ve got a good chance of staying up. Lets hope the Albion can join you!

Don’t know how you can say Saturday was the best day of your life?? Surely it should be a week on sunday at approx 3pm when the sun shall be shining on the gold and black palace and Mick Mccarthy is holding the championship trophy high into the sky…Premier League in nothing but style! Cannot bloody wait!!!

Can’t stop grinning. Wore black and gold to work today. Saturday was the only time in my life I’ve had a hangover before going to sleep. Cried with happiness on the final whistle. So grateful to the team. So proud. So gold. Nothing can burst this bubble.

Congratulations are very much in order. But I can’t help offering them with a tinge of anger. I see Mick has used the occasion, again to have a go at any supporters who have ever been critical of his management.
Let’s face facts. While we collapsed, everyone around us collapsed at the same time. At one stage we won 2 out of 11 games, playing shocking, dire football. Luckily for us, Blues and Reading imploded too.
Now while I don’t expect us to perform like Barcelona every week, I think certain fans, including myself had the right to raise questions about the manager’s selections, his game plans and his stubborn sticking to ex – Sunderland/Ireland players who were simply not performing.
I’ve been a Wolves fan for 35 years, long before Mick had even thought about the club. So to call me and many other lifelong Wolves fans “Numpties” on the day of our promotion leaves me with a bittersweet taste. He NEVER mentions the fans does he? Only when he has a go at them. It’s always “Me and the players against the fans”.
That’s why when I should be feeling ecstatic, I also feel that MM should realise that it’s not all about him, it’s about the fans as well.
I have never in my lifetime disliked a Wolves manager. It’s a shame I do now.

CONGRATULATIONS to Mick and the lads. What a fantastic day. Terrific game and a carnival atmosphere. But please. please let’s change the ‘new’ anthem. How about Queen’s “We are the Champions” We are the champions of Molineux. We’ll keep on fighting through and through. Though we might lose games, we;ll keep on trying. ‘Cause we are the Champions of Molineux” We’re in the Promised Land. YEESSSS

New Yorker for 26 years and get to about 2 matches per season.i’m thinking of getting a season ticket to guarantee a seat for when I’m over. My uncle in Wolves can sell it at face value, or give it to a deserving fan when I cannot be there. wonderful feeling to be back where we belong. Now lets become a world force again.

Promotion!…A taboo subject for so long the pessimist in me is struggling to accept it! :P…what if Sir Steve suddenly goes bankrupt, we could get points deducted and we wouldn’t even make the play-offs…only joking!…..THE WONDEROUS WOLVES BACK IN THE PREM!!! and dare i say it?!…LEAGUE CHAMPIONS 2009!!…altogether now
TO DREAM THE IMPOSSIBLE DREAM……

First of all congratulations to all the players, they did the hard work. Secondly well done to MM and his TEAM. Thirdly thank you to SM and Directors for supporting MM. (I HOPE THE SUPPORTERS WHO WANTED MM FEEL THOROUGHLY ASHAMED).
I was at the game and it was a fantactic feeling when the final whistle went. I have followed Wolves for 57 years and this was one of the best moments. Now let us give the Premier League clubs something to think about.

Hi to everyone, I sat up ’till 2:30 am on the Gold Coast in Queensland Australia listening to the QPR game on the internet. It made me proud. i must admit the tears were flowing when i finally got to see the highlights and the pitch invasion, after being over here for 3 years it was beautiful knowing that my Dad was on the pitch that day. I’m now making the trip back to the UK in September and can’t wait to sit in the North Bank again (if I can get a ticket!!!)After following the lads since the late 70′s, the downfall, and brief resurgance it’s great to see us back where we belong.See all you pommies in Perth. C’mon me babbies.
