Father delivers baby on motorway
Monday 13th April 2009, 11:30AM BST.
A husband from Bilston delivered his baby daughter on the hard shoulder of the M42 after his wife went into labour a week early as the couple returned from a trip to London.
The baby was born in the car’s passenger side footwell between Junctions 5 and 6 near Solihull at around 3.20am yesterday, with ambulance staff giving instructions over a mobile phone.
Both mother and baby went to Heartlands Hospital in Birmingham and were today said to be well.
