Yates happy with Harriers progress

Kiddywrex 13 RH 22Kidderminster manager Mark Yates is happy with his side’s progress as they head into two weeks of madness.

Harriers go to Woking on April Fools Day to begin a sequence of six games in 12 days – four of those away – which could well define the club’s season as they head into next month in the last play-off spot.

They were helped as sixth-placed Stevenage failed to capitalise on the Aggborough club’s goalless draw at struggling York on Saturday, after Oxford came from behind to snatch a 1-1 draw at Broadhall Way.

All leaves Yates’ men in a good position to progress and a reputation for a mean backline is forming, despite stalemate at KitKat Crescent it was their seventh clean sheet in succession – five of those wins and all unbeaten.

Now the manager has urged his side to stay focussed for what could well be the most important period of the season.

He even feels that his side could have gone into April two points better off – if his side had taken his chances at York.

He said: “We were getting tough to beat at the back and we played well Saturday – we should have won. We would have liked that for sure, but we kept the run going and thats seven unbeaten for us now.

“The players have been brilliant – but there is a lot of hard work to do. We have just got to keep focus, make sure that we keep on the right path and work hard.”
