Wolves well on course assures Moxey

Wolves chief executive Jez MoxeyChief Executive Jez Moxey has declared Wolves “perfectly on course” after this week’s two loan deals completed preparations for the promotion run-in.

The pre-deadline arrivals of striker Marlon Harewood and keeper Graham Stack for the final six games have the club hoping that nothing has been left to chance, as the Championship promotion race reaches its final stages.

Harewood’s recruitment was partly a response to rivals Reading bringing back former players Glen Little and Dave Kitson to boost their goalscoring threat last week.

Plymouth goalkeeper Stack was also hurried in to Molineux, when Darren Ward returned to Sunderland for treatment on a back injury.

Moxey, breaking off from his latest fact-finding excursion to Hungarian partner-club Ujpest, believes all bases are now covered.

He said: “We asked ourselves if there was anything else we needed to do before the deadline closed and we are happy with the business we’ve completed.

“Marlon’s signing was something Mick was very keen to do when we became aware of his availability and we’re now relieved to be back to three goalkeepers after Darren’s injury problems.

“It’s obviously an exciting and tense time for the fans, but I can assure you we are all staying very calm and relaxed at Molineux, because that has been our approach from the outset.”
