Lets do it for the boss urges Jonno

ALBION WESTHAM 16 DH 19Captain Jonathan Greening has told Albion’s players they owe it to manager Tony Mowbray to keep the Baggies in the Premier League.

Greening insists the team must repay Mowbray’s faith by winning their increasingly difficult battle to stay in the top flight.

The skipper wants to help Mowbray justify his free-flowing football principles by pulling off an unlikely second ‘Great Escape’.

He said: “All the players and the staff love the gaffer. Everyone thinks he’s a top guy and a great coach.

“He got us here in the Premier League, in the first place, in his first full season at the club. Since he’s been here, the club has come on leaps and bounds and the way we play gets a lot of plaudits from everyone who is a football fan.

“Everyone stops me and tells me what good football we play and it’s quite a nice feeling.

“It would be great if we can stay up for the gaffer because he’s a great guy.”

Mowbray is Greening’s third Baggies boss, after Gary Megson and Bryan Robson, and the Albion skipper admitted the current manager’s style is the best yet.

He said: “We all believe in the way he likes to play and personally I think it is definitely the right way to play.”

I like the sentiment and as a season ticket holder hope that it all comes true! However, words are cheap and these words don’t seem to be backed up by performances such as Fulham (away) and Newcastle (home) where it appeared that the players weren’t actually bothered about “doing it” for anyone.

The Baggies as the Boing Boing theme says will always bounce back. Tony has put the pride back into the Team, and for a bit more luck with taking their chances instead of missing them They would be in mid-table Now. He lost his Striker Miller, he needs hitsmen like The King Jeff Astle and Tony Bomber Brown types. Where are they.?

Nearly too late isn’t it Greening?
You should have been ‘doing it for the boss’ all season shouldn’t you then you would not be down at the bottom of the Premiership!
Still, there’s just about enough time to get yourselves out of trouble but another 2 or so defets and it will be Championship football for Albion next season!

just how many chances do we need at this league, we’re reffered to quite frequently as a yo-yo team, sooner or later we wil just be known as a pathetic joke, oh well championship next season looks a dead cert and league one there after, at least walsall will get 6 points out of it.

dear mr fa, as a useless outfit can we please ask for a extended season as we do not think we have had enough games to grant us another great escape, we are willing to play through the summer but a cash bribe will not be possible as we are only a small club and are very poor. yours sincerely sandwell fc sorry i mean w.b.a

That’s it girls, all pull together! Our boss has tried to play real football all the time he’s been here. When we win he’s a genius, when we lose the moaners all know better. That’s why they’ll all qualified top coaches queueing up to lead England to glory. And as for the silly, cocky, childish comments from the presently Winning Wulfies, how about just three weeks ago when you all wanted to strangle MicMac? You are about to have a rude awakening next season. For the sake of your decent supporters I hope you stay up, but don’t think for one moment it will be easy. Let’s see how well you stick together then.

costa del wolf… you would not like to put a wager on albion doing a charlton would you.

If so I would take you up on it I know you cant post tel numbers and addresses on here but I am sure we could sort something out.

of course bask in your achievement of promotion its only natural and gloat in our relagation if you wish your entitled to your opinion.

but dont forget the roles could be reversed this time next year who knows in football

But I assure you that we will not do a Charlton the way the Chairman runs the club will assure that wont happen
but about the wager my offer is there should you wish.

I have done well in the past with bets on albion won very good money the year you threw it away to us and very good money the great escape year 20-1 i think it was

My Baggie mates one and all, perhaps I’m being silly but as far as the players are concerned, shouldn’t they be doing it for themselves ? (I know, I know ..cue for a song !!) There’s no one else can do it for them though. It’s no good saying let’s do it for Tom, Dick or Harry, they have to want to do it for themselves.

By the way (and sorry for the dig) but I have it on good authority that Tom, Dick and Harry are available for transfer to you !!
