Denial on town talk of Gary Glitter

Police today denied widespread rumours that paedophile Gary Glitter had moved to Penkridge.
Talk in the town had suggested that the shamed rocker had moved in. The Express & Star has been inundated with calls about the claims but today police dismissed them.
Staffordshire Police spokesman Neil Spencer said today: “We are aware of rumours about the supposed presence in Penkridge of a named individual.
“We have investigated and are satisfied that they are nothing more than unhelpful rumour.”
