What does “Do you this season will end with the drop?” mean?
We have a great chance of winning every match left as we now know we have to. That could be what’s needed. Albion will stay up, and Wolves might not get promoted if they lose every game left.
Having said that, why didn’t Albion get Harewood earlier in the season. We needed a goal-scorer, didn’t we? Missed chance yet again by Mowbray!

plain answer is ‘NO’, while the club is satisfied with weekly home gates of around 15,000 on average in the championship, there is no desire for the chairman to even consider parting with very good yearly monetary returns for himself and the other shareholder, i don’t think anyone with a large enough bank account will ever bid for truly designed championship club

Hilltop baggie obviously worrying about missing prem footy so he comes to Wolverhampton! Absolutely no chance of staying up. not a hope.
albion are you listening,
you better keep that trpphy glistening,
were coming in may,
to take it away,
walking in a wanderers wonderland!
Looking forward to the prem. But I dont think were get in europe!

It’s hard to debate the point Pete without getting into the blame game, but the answer is relegation is as certain as death itself. Although not mathematically certian at this time, we only have a few weeks before the sentence is officially passed.
You simply cannot compete in the Premiership unless you are willing to compete financially. Peace knows this, hence the reason why Mowbray is still in charge. Peace will continue to try to sell the club to the right buyer, but that will only happen if Peace walks away knowing his own future is well secured. We cannot compete unless Peace moves the club on to a more risk oriented individual.
I have not criticized Tony Mowbray for his footballing principles as I believe the man has a very bright future as a football manager. However, the traits he brings to the club are wasted simply due to the position the club finds itself in. I don’t think it’s lack of ambition, but the train has simply reached the end of the track.
There are undoubtedly some questionable things with Mowbray, and I am not sure if he will learn from them but I sincerely hope he does.
We went from an attacking team in the Championship with a good balance of players for that level, to a risk adverse team this year who pay far too much respect to the opposition. We failed to keep key players even though some will argue they were good Championship players versus Premiership players. Regardless, they were our best players no matter what league we were in. We had money to spend on replacements and instead we elected to fill the midfield ranks to the brink. If you take away all the midfield signings, we could have survived with what we had and the money would have been better spent on one or two striking options.
The second point is the salary balancing that Mowbray has employed, placing all first team players on the same salary as each other. Regardless of skill level and importance, you are payed at the same rate. Mowbray doesn’t want superstars, he wants the team to think and act as a unified group. The issue here is that these superstars are the ones who make something out of nothing in the Premiership and they are the ones who win you games. We haven’t had that this year and it is therefore no surprise that our top targets didn’t join the club.
Finally, we are a one dimensional attacking team now. We have little to no ability whatsoever of attacking at pace down the wings while supplying crosses. Teams we play against can see that we try to go through the middle and they easily nulify any potential threat we pose. We have simply become too easy to play against.
Anyway, at least we will win a few more games back in the Championship.

I would love to be proved wrong but it will take
title winning form to stay up and a loss of form
from the other relegation battlers. We can see
where TM got it wrong too many untried and
inexperienced recruits probably dictated by the
clubs prudent policy. A rethink required with
below average players cleared out.

as a wwfc fan this is turning into a dream season for us but in all honesty i would have expected to see the 1st black country prem derby next season because i thought wba would do a lot better than they have your problems are those of your own making selling your top scorer before season kicked off and replacing him with a younger inferior striker from the villa goals is what its all about you went up without adressing both major ends you failed to supply your team with quality up front but also a back four that leaked goals for fun in the ccc cannot be expected to become better at an higher level so now i hope it will be the season after next to see a black country derby whereby wolves are starting our 2nd season in the prem and yourselves have come up to join us this of course is if we see this season out and win promotion because as you have found out the hardest part is staying there but i think if we do go up steve morgan will give mick the funds to not only give us a chance but to actually stay there and develope into a genuine premier league club \/\/ \/\/

Panic now and it really could be a downward slope back to 1991. Remember those days? Albion 2- Woking 4…..Charlton didn’t panic and sack everyone when they went up with Curbishley and straight down again. Stay loyal and true. We DO have a good management team, we are a viable club. good support home and away, the grass roots of youngsters is going well. Only an idiot would make the captain walk the plank. It may be hard to swallow with The Wulfies and Blues taking our place but it won’t be easy for them either. We can do it all again if we stay calm and maybe better next time round. COME ON YOU BAGGIES !

the answer is no we cant stay up much as it hurts to say it the only people you can blame are jeremy peace and tony mowbry why sell our best players and replace them with high priced midfielders who might look good in the blue square league and why continue with the same team week after week we have players who dont get a look in sorry tony you have got it wrong one question why play a striker and tell him to go wide ithought the proper way to play a striker was in front of goal where they can hurt teams

Terry, I understand you are feeling envious about the Wolves but the albion can bounce back under Mowbray but his ideas will have to change slightly.
Happy, I dont understand why you are getting aggresive? Perhaps it is the Albions demise? I have simply pointed out that Carson has cost you alot of points. A shirt sponsor is vital for another income stream. Paul Robinson is not good enough and you will be relegated. All valid points my friend just relax.
My personal opinion on targets for Wolves, would of of walked into Albions team (Davenport, Gabbidon, Ledley, Eagles, Harewood, Huddlestone etc) and I it would be somewhat naive to say they wouldn’t?
All the best for saturday, hopefully a good point will be gained against a physical stoke outfit.

I see Wigan have turned down a £1 million shirt sponsorship deal. (BBC latest page today). Would have been useful cash if someone had wanted to sponsor Albion… Clueless!

Morning Terry, no pie this time me old mucca, just a change of scenery. Interesting comments, and as i said lots of whats, ifs and maybe’s. We can point to a lot of things that could or should have been done, but to go back to T.M.’s comments, we are only a couple of players short of being a good prem team. It’s unlikely that we will survive, but i just cant give in, it’s still possible, unlikely but possible and while it’s possible i’m 110% behind the whole club, chairman, manager and players. I sincerely wish the wolves good luck next year, but and it’s a big but, theres going to have to be massive investment made because quite honestly their squad at the mo hasnt got a chance. Pound for pound the Albion are so much in front of them, and as weve found it still aint enough.

To all Wolves realistic fans and Laughingwolf in particular,I beg to disagree with your assessment of potential signings you have named to keep you in the Premiership. i:eDavenport,Gabbidon,Ledley, Eagles,Harewood and Huddlestone.
I know its all about opinions, but hopefully you will realise during next season just how difficult it is to stay there and the quality of player’s required.
But “Good Luck”
Yes we will get relegated this season and the only thing we will have to look forward to next seasson is if wolves can beat derby’s record of the lowest points ever in the premiership.
