Chances are if you’ve ever visited the Walsall Leather Museum you will have come across the spritely figure of Ron Hawkins.
Ron cuts an impressive figure, his dark hair Brylcreemed back, his white apron parade ground smart and eyes sparkling.
He looks so young because his skin is so well tanned, he jokes.
Now aged 83, the genial pensioner holds court to visitors on the trade which helped make Walsall famous.
