Stars singing up for charity
Stars of pop, soul, rock and TV gathered at a Midlands recording studio to help put the finishing touches to a charity recording which has been more than six months in the making.

More than 40 musicians and singers have contributed to the Damage Limitation album, the brainchild of Wolverhampton guitarist and singer Robin George, who hit the charts in the 80s with Heartline and now runs a recording business in Andalucia, Spain.

Among those taking part in the sessions at Robannas in Birimingham at the weekend were soul star Jaki Graham, ex-Fuzzbox singer ViX, former Emmerdale star Freya Copeland, Quireboys frontman Spike and UFO bassist Pete Way, who is also in the group Damage Control with Robin George.
Children from Baverstock, Castle Vale, Kingsbury, Stockland Green and Washwood Heath Schools were also taking part, and even members of the media were roped in to sing along.
The Damage Limitation album, due for release later this year, will feature a song written by Phil Lynott and Robin George and a track co-produced by Gus Dudgeon who has worked with David Bowie and Elton John.
Among those who have already contributed are Ruby Turner, former AC/DC drummer Chris Slade and ex-Climax Blues Band member Pete Haycock.
Funds raised by the CD will be shared between Wolverhampton's Compton Hospice, Cudeca (cancer care), Marie Curie Cancer Care, Havens House Children's Hospice, the Roger Perks Golden Key Award (children's charities), Forty Nights (Parkinson's Society), Friends of the Animals Velez Malaga (animal rescue) and Heart UK.
