Cannabis factory found in posh home
Saturday 14th March 2009, 11:30AM GMT.
A cannabis factory has been discovered in plush Black Country home following a dramatic police swoop.
Plain-clothes officers raided the detached, six-bedroomed home in Bloxcidge Street, in Oldbury, at 3pm yesterday as stunned neighbours looked on.
The quiet residential estate was swamped with up to 10 police cars and neighbours said they saw one man being taken away.
One, who did not want to be named said: “There were about 10 cars and at least 20 people, who I presume were undercover officers.
“There was also a National Grid van. The house wasn’t occupied although there was a man going in and out once a week.
“This is a nice area.”
Police said a teenager had been taken for questioning.
Three skips were delivered to the street at around 6pm for the police to remove the plants.
More than 150 cannabis plants were seized in outbuildings at a property in Kingswinford yesterday.
