A landlady is hoping to pull in real ale fans despite the economic downturn by brewing her own beer for her own pub near Rugeley.

Annie Walters, who has been landlady for three years at The Swan with Two Necks, in Longdon, is hoping her new beer, “N’ked at the Swan”, will be a hit and offer a cheaper deal for her regulars as well as encourage beer fans from across the area to come and have a tipple.

The 39-year-old brewed her first batch of the pale ale at the Shugborough Estate Brewery, near Stafford, under the tuition and guidance of Staffordshire’s Titanic Brewery.

The beer will be ready to drink in around a fortnight after it has fermented and been casked.
