Tributes have been paid to a cyclist who died after a collision with a lorry in Kidderminster who was today named as John Hudson, aged 40.

Mr Hudson from Comberton, was airlifted to hospital after the accident at the Hoobrook island on the A449 on February 19.

He died in Birmingham’s Selly Oak Hospital on Tuesday. Today his devastated partner Lisa Murphy said he was “full of life” and that his death had left a “hole in my heart”.

“John was full of life. He was a sports fanatic, enjoying cycling and running,” she said.

“He also loved the outdoors, particularly walking and camping. He could be stubborn and determined at times but he was also very friendly and talkative.”

John was a West Bromwich Albion fan who never missed a game on the television. She added: “He was a very loving person and his loss has left a hole in my heart. I will always remember his quirky ways and will miss him more than words can say.”

John’s parents, who did not wish to be named, said in a statement: “John was a wonderful son. We couldn’t have asked any more from him. His passing has left a big gap in our lives.”
