Friday 27th February 2009, 12:13PM GMT.

cctvstillThis suspected thug was being hunted by police today on suspicion of punching a civil servant outside a Wolverhampton pub.

The man, wearing a distinctive green top, was caught on CCTV leaving Yates’s wine lodge, in Queen Square. Inside, he had been involved in what police say was a verbal dispute with the 26-year-old victim, from Wolverhampton, who then left.

The attacker, who was with a group of people, is believed to have followed him from the bar and then punched him in the jaw in Queen Square.

Det Con Martin Bate, of Bilston Street CID, said the victim’s jaw had been fractured in two spots and broken in a third. He had surgery in New Cross Hospital, but has been unable to return to work.

The attack happened just after 2am on Sunday, November 23 last year. The suspect was wearing what is believed to have been a green Lyle & Scott top.
