Sensible and considered opinion. As an impartial observer he more often than not gives an objective view of where we are than the average fan who blindly backs or criticises the team, depending on which camp they’re in.

Absolutely no doubt that we are going up, not in style but we are going up. Great overview of where we are and what we need to do. Please, please Jez start planning to spend big from day one. We will nees six or seven key signings if we are to survive. Great season, enjoyed every moment and my thanks to this team and MM for the usual roller coaster Wolves ride.

The first game of the season Graham Stack had the game of his life. We owe them one and to be fair I think we are going to give somebody a hiding soon. That said, I would be happy with 1-0 and the fans getting behind the boys like last sunday, which by all accounts especially in the south bank were superb. I think blues will drop points this weekend away to sheff utd, possibly a draw.

completely agree no 2 my realistic targets would be the following, baring in mind we dont want to cripple our club but need experience:
Gabbidon (westham)
Nicky shorey (villa)
Harewood (villa)
Larsson (blues)
Carsley (blues)
Roger Johnson (cardiff)
Ledley (cardiff)
Olsson (albion)
who would everyone

1 – What did Mr Swain really say – apart from the usual stating the obvious? An “objective” point of view? Which bit do you mean? – Wolves were like the Wolves of old – as in back in September or was it the bit about the first half an hour – when we looked the part (I’m sure everyone else that had eyes saw the same thing) Or was it the bit about if we win in March we could almost be promoted?
One of the definitions of the word “objective” refers to a “goal or aim” – Apart from stating the obvious that nearly all of us already know – What was Mr Swain’s goal or aim my friend?
And as for “considered” – again the definition of this word is “thought out with care” – Please tell us all How does Mr Swain state the obvious and do this?
Another thing – Is Mr Swain really impartial – If so, How do you know? Are you Mr Swain – a friend, colleague?

NB* this final bit tends to suggest that the average fan (whatever that means) is eh – thick/ maybe a better word “nugget” who either bilndly backs (eh – has faith in) or criticises (eh- has an opinion – how dare they!)
Are you really MM in disguise?
NB* Before you type out such garbage my friend – put brain in gear – unless of course you work for the E & S or the club so it doesnt matter anyway!
NB* Most Wolves fans are in my view “salt of the earth” and deserve far far better than your comments suggest, MM’s comments etc etc and are in no way thick or deserving such “cack handed” comments

4)I don’t agree with Gabbidon, Shorey,Harewood, carsley or Ollson. We would need plenty of experience to bolster the half a dozen or so class youngsters but the aforementioned are not the ones. I would like us to pursue players like Huddlestone, Foster and Baines, for example, but it is highly unlikely that they would sell.
Anyway back to tomorrow and Tuesday… 6 points. We know anyone can beat anyone and there are no easy games but both teams are in dire form. Palace were totally outplayed by Blues – who cannot score – and their only win recently was against Plymouth.
3-0 tomorrow and 2-1 on Tuesday!

5 The Ususal Suspects
My god you are on a roll today, how about stating your own thoughts as others are instead of analysing what everyone else says??
This is a “message board” lets not forget that which encourages opinion, or did I somehow get that 1 mistaken like num.1??

Sorry I just love people saying how wonderful Mr Swain is – but when I look closely he’s not really saying anything we dont already know

Interesting take Mr Suspect. I am unsure what you expect him to say. A sports journalist is just like you and me, A bloke with an opinion. What are you looking for?

6 brummierobwolves- exactly mate realistic targets. We would stay up with those players and wouldnt cripple us financially!

9 You’re probably right PS – I dont know what I expect from him really – maybe a tad more than the flaming obvious???
What would you expect of Mr Swain?

Usual – I’m neither ‘Mr Swain’ nor an employee of E&S or Wolves. I am a supporter of more than 30 years.
It’s nice to see that you needed a dictionary to get a definition of ‘objective’ and ‘considered’.
In the context of my post, I used the word ‘objective’ to describe that ‘Mr Swain’ is able to write his article from a neutral point of view – therefore giving an ‘objective’ opinion. We, as Wolves fans will give a ‘subjective’ opinion as we have a love for the club and an often biased view on things.
I think he gave a ‘considered’ view as it is his job (and by the look of him has been his job for a long time) to report on local football. Therefore, he has a wealth of experience to draw his opinion from.
In no way was I trying to belittle the average fan, and my statement about some fans blindly backing the team was giving it their full support regardless of form.
Turning now to the MM comments, he may not be the most eloquent of people, but he knows the game and footbal management. We might disagree on whether he will ultimately be a successful manager for Wolves or someone else (and I will reserve my judgement until the end of the season), but for now he picks the team and has my support.
NB* I think you are the one who makes cack-handed comments and clearly think that ‘Mr Swain’ is a below average reporter. I don’t, and therefore we have a difference of opinon, that’s all.

13 I can only comment on what you stated (not a mind reader)and in reference to what you actually stated took offence to your somewhat clumsy/ cack handed comments on the “average fan”
As for using a dictionary – Is that not normal to do a little research to get facts right – before attempting to type? In this case – personally as an “average Wolves fan” I didnt actually need one my friend – Your comment obviously had a “tonality” of sarcasm?
Therefore, what I stated “fits” your comments and in the absence of your lengthy explanation – how else would it be interpreted?
Finally, Mr Swain does very little that is worthy of your accolade (no dictionary required) and is nothing more than an average journalist faced with a deadline to produce a “space filler” for the sports page – unless there is an interview or something different than most Wolves fans already know? If so – What exactly have we all missed? Please enlighten us all? (Still no dictionary required)
NB* I never intended to hurt your feelings – but it appears from your comments that you appear a tad upset – hence the need for the manner of your reply
My friend “sticks and stones”
PS the “sarcasm” regarding the “dictionary” remarks in my reply are just there to treat your “sarcasm” with the contempt it deserves
Take several deep breaths and have a nice day!

You didn’t hurt my feelings at all, I just felt that you needed an insight into my opinion as you missed it the first time.
Grow up and stop looking to create an argument from nothing.
And by the way, I’m not your friend – ner ner ner ner nerrrrr…

11. I’m not that bothered either way to be honest. I happen to agree with him in this instance but if I didn’t… Oh well!
I’m just concerned for your welfare – getting so worked up over some journo’s opinion!

16 neither am I PS – just reading the comments above says it all – I’m not your friend – oh dear and I’m being told to grow up – Speaks volumes
Well have to say a big thank you to VF – It made me chuckle – Swain gets an oscar for an average article and VF denies that he’s upset!
PS* VF As I said already – I replied to what you actually stated – It doesnt require a degree to work it out – my friend (meant in a genuine caring manner) Dont take it so personal – Anyway (genuinely from the heart)Have a Nice Day! – No reply required! ;-)

Who is the best, The Usual Suspects or Vim Fuego?
There’s only one way to find out………FIGHT!!!

19 – it’s me, by a mile.
I am after all a hard rocker from the 80s, whilst the Usual Suspects is a decent enough film that you don’t need to watch more than once.

Mr Swain has the highest integrity, his comments are always spot on.
Lets hope the Wolves can ride their luck and go up. Needless to say to stat up is another story requiring massive funding. The difference in class between the divisions is huge.
