Bus firm Banga looks at new name
Thursday 26th February 2009, 11:44AM GMT.
A bus company in Wolverhampton that won the right to stay on the roads despite reports of maintenance lapses could change its name in a bid to shed its troubled reputation.
Rajinder Banga, who runs Banga Buses, has also vowed to buy newer vehicles, following an official warning from the West Midland traffic commissioner.
The rusty, spluttering beige Banga Travel buses were a familiar site when the company was run by Rajinder Banga’s father Parkash Ram Banga, before he lost his licence last March.
Most of the nine-strong fleet has now been re-painted yellow. Banga Buses runs the 530 Wolverhampton to Rocket Pool service and the 634 between the city and Bilbrook.
At the hearing, vehicle examiner Nigel Davies was satisfied the fleet was in good working order.
Rajinder Banga, 39, said: “It is very important that people realise this company is not the same as the one my father ran.”

i love the bangha busses their drivers on the 535 route are the best very polite they help young and old with shopping prams etc long may they run and they are always smiling,,,, perhaps instead of using their energies to rid the roads of bangha, west mids passenger service could train their drivers in customer service (banga wouldnt drive off if you were running for their bus !

Oh,thats fine then,as long as they change their name, that’ll solve everything, wont it?

What about the 545 route from Dudley to Wolverhampton? Their buses are all a disgrace as well as being death traps. Will it take a death to get them off the road permanently?
West Mids Travel drivers are rude, obnoxious and often run the buses when they feel like it. Wolverhampton could do with more firms coming forward and provide a more reliable, safer and cleaner service

I totally agree with Sharon, what a great servive they are too Bilbrook

So you paint the buses another colour and say it’s another company? You’re having a laugh!
I’d never get on one of those buses, they don’t look safe, are polluting the atmosphere and should be taken off the roads.

It is time Wolverhampton had a better provider of public transport other than Banga as the buses they run are a disgrace, why else have they been featured more than once in the industry’s weekly magazine highlighting the vehicles maintenance records and other regulatory matters. I, for one, would never travel on them. Mr Banga has to do better than change the colour or name.

Id rather go into Wolverhampton on a rickshaw its much safer….

Mr Banga must replace his Bangers.

Do you bother reading the article?
Or do you read the title then make your own story up?
I’m sure you all know what is best and if you ran the country we wouldn’t be in the mess we’re in right now? It’s amazing that you haven’t been elected!!

I LIVE IN TURKEY NOW LEFT WOLVERHAMPTON 7yrs AGO THE BUS SERVICE HERE IS SECOND TO NON. THE DRIVERS ARE VERY HELPFUL YOU CATCH THE BUS ANYWHERE THEY DROP YOU WHERE EVER YOU WANT. THE KIDS GET UP TO GIVE YOU THERE SEAT NOT LIKE THE KIDS IN ENGLAND I COULD GO ON AND ON

Sharon seems to you think that one of the other bus companies are trying to take Banga off the road. It is nothing to do with any other company, it is the Traffic Commissioners who are part of the Department of Transport, and so they are totally independendant of any bus company.

Those Buses are a disgrace and are NOT safe to be on the road. Perhaps someone should check vehicle examiner Nigel Davies ability to do his job. As for the vehicles, they should be sent back to the set of ”Heartbeat”

most of it is sour grapes from the big buses sure there are issues but i have never been scared on a bangha

I don’t know if the bhanga buses are safe or not. What I do know is they don’t look particularly inviting. What impression these buses give to visitors to Wolverhampton is another question. Could you imagine a similar size city to Wolverhampton like Bath or Oxford having these battered vehicles plying their trade? I don’t think so.

Do you trust every judgement made by others and not rely on your own instinct?
It’s a good job you’re not running the country, you’d probably be giving millions to banks with a track record of failure … wait your name isn’t really Gordon is it?

graham lives in turkey now – oh ok graham and suppose you want us to send some kind of medal or something to you? we will but will be transported by BANGA BUSES

Putza Shiftin, if someone’s job is deem the road worthiness of a vehicle he’ll probably have a better idea than your instincts!
If my car failed it’s MOT i wouldn’t make the argument that I THINK it’s OK and continue to drive it?
Why should facts stand in the way of your instinct??
I vote for you to run the country, instinct is the way forward and I can do what I reckon because I FEEL it’s right!!!
