Hughes keen to share chances

Stephen Hughes has told his Walsall team-mates to follow his goalscoring lead. The Saddlers skipper netted his second of the season in the 2-0 win at Northampton on Saturday – his first since September.
Michael Ricketts is top scorer with 12, Troy Deeney and Jabo Ibehre are both on seven and Alex Nicholls has five, but Hughes says the whole squad need to contribute.
He said: “The manager has spoken about it. We’ve got to get more goals from midfield and goals from throughout the team. I’m happy I popped up with one and Dwayne Mattis gets in the box a lot to get his fair share, so it’s good to spread it around the team.
“I didn’t set myself any targets pre-season. I’ve been injured for a couple of months and I’m pleased to be back playing. The goal is a bonus, but the main thing was a team win.”
Ibehre sealed the win, but the Saddlers slipped to 12th in League One after last night’s results.
Hughes wants to maintain their form under boss Chris Hutchings when Yeovil Town travel to the Banks’s Stadium on Saturday.
“We’re unbeaten in four now and it’s all about going on little runs. You can see the never-say-die attitude among the lads,” said Hughes, who only returned from eight weeks out earlier this month.
“Training is very intense, we’re working on a lot of things and in the last four results you can see an improvement in the team.”

An excellent start to the reign of CH & MOC. JB should be commended for realising his mistake of taking no the ‘Mullet’.
I just wonder how long the Honeymoon will last and the JB detractors start again?
It’s great to see commitment and football again. Hopefully we will start to see crowds increasing now. The cheaper early bird tickets is excellent, so come on Walsall fans come home to the Banks’s?
