Big player shake up at Keys Park

pitmen.jpgHednesford have placed 21-year-old centre-back and former club captain Tom Marshall on the transfer list.

Manager Dean Edwards claims the decision had been taken after disciplinary problems and believes it is in the player’s best interests to make a fresh start.

But the Pitmen have been boosted by the return of 24- year-old Portuguese sweeper Decio Gomes.

After suddenly leaving Keys Park at Christmas he has returned to England and will go straight into the squad for the game against Ilkeston Town at Keys Park.

Since his departure, Hednesford have lost seven of 11 games played and the loss of their talisman has been a major contribution to the poor run of results.

Edwards finally got back in contact with Decio last week and he was hoping to get him back in time for the Eastwood game but it was not practicable, as the player’s mother was in hospital.

Now the manager is trying to find his star somewhere to live.

Benin international Florent Raimy ,who made his debut last Saturday against Eastwood and lasted only 39 minutes before being sent off, was informed after the game that the Pitmen would not be taking up the option of keeping him for the rest of the season.
