20ft roof fall in suspected factory raid

A suspected burglar was fighting for his life today after plunging 20ft through a factory roof in the Black Country.
The injured man is believed to have lain undiscovered for up to 24 hours after falling.
The part of the foundry in which he landed was out of use.
He was airlifted to Selly Oak hospital after a manager discovered him by chance during a visit to the dispatch section of the Brockmoor Foundry, Leys Road, Brockmoor.
West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to Brockmoor Foundry, Leys Road, Brierley Hill, at 11.55am on Monday.
A spokesman said: “Crews arrived to find an injured man lying on the floor.
“He had earlier been discovered by staff at the foundry. It is believed he had fallen.
“Crews assessed his condition. He had head and limb injuries and a suspected fractured pelvis.”
West Midlands Police are investigating.
