Monday 23rd February 2009, 11:30AM GMT.
A teenage driver who died after her car hit a wall in Bewdley was today named as Eleanor Teeling, aged 18.
Grieving family and friends paid tribute to the “fun-loving” young woman.
Miss Teeling, a former Bewdley High School pupil, was known as Ellie to her family and friends.
She died at the scene of the crash on the B4190 Habberley Road, close to the entrance to the Ramada Heath Hotel, at about 5.45am on Saturday.
She had been driving a Vauxhall Corsa and was on her way home to Woodthorpe Drive in the town after a night out with a friend. Miss Teeling suffered multiple injuries and paramedics were unable to save her life.
Today her family released a statement which said: “We cannot find the words to describe the tragedy that has struck our family with the loss of our beloved Ellie. She was a wonderful daughter, granddaughter, sister, niece and friend. An outgoing, independent young woman, Ellie was a ‘doer’.
“If she said she was going to do something, it was done.
“She was ambitious and had big ideas for her future, ideas that she was more than capable of fulfilling.
“Quite simply she was a lovely, lovely girl. We will miss her more than we can say but we will never, ever forget her and she will remain a central part of all out lives.” Friends also paid tribute to the “fun-loving” young woman.
Rachel Leavesley, aged 19, from Bewdley, described her as “always smiling”. She said that Ellie was “friends with everyone and knew so many people.” Dozens of floral tributes have been left at the scene where Miss Teeling died.
Miss Teeling leaves a younger sister Lucy and older brother Bryn.
