Hemmings joins Cheltenham on loan
Monday 23rd February 2009, 4:00PM GMT.
Young Wolves attacker Ashley Hemmings has been allowed to join League One side Cheltenham on a month’s loan deal.
The 18-year-old will head to Whaddon Road in search of first-team experience, after penning a one-year pro deal at Molineux earlier this month.
Hemmings, who has already had a taste of first team football having been named as a substitute for the Championship defeat at Swansea in October, also spent a week at League Two side Bournemouth.
Now the teenage hitman will join up with the Robins and their manager Martin Allen, who revealed that Wolves had let him have the player at no cost to the club – such is the dedication to his development.
Allen said: “Wolves have done us a favour by letting us have him for nothing and he will be involved in the squad. Ashley is a very quick, left-footed centre forward who gets in behind defenders and scores goals.
“You have to pay big money to get goal scorers, but I know Ashley is a talented young player and I’m looking for him to add something to our team over the next few games.”

One for the future hopefully. Still lacking a quality striker alongside SEB. Best of luck to the lad.

maybe when he comes back 10 minutes at the end of a game. why not the other teams wont have a clue about him and suprise is sometimes a good weapon.

lets not forget what Robbie Keane did on his debut

Good luck Ash, I hope you do well. We need more home grown talents to make headlines where they go on loan, but again would that be enough Micky too gives these lads a fair chance? Probably not.

Watched him play in Birmingham senior cup vs Stourbridge, looks a real prospect for the future, very quick and scored a great goal with his left foot.

I’ve seen him too. Needs bulking up a bit needs to gain some upper body strength – bit like SEB but he’s only 18 and seems willing to learn. Quite fast, good turn of pace, seemed fast and commanding over a short distance. Found space well and showed an ability to drift into space away from defenders. I think he was left footed too, could be really useful. Come on the young Wolves lads! (And the team encouraging them).

How is that ?
Is that another Davies dig you know he who was injured for 2 years had a loan spell at Leicester returned and went for the money (BTW he was cup tied for the Boro game)
Hennesey isn’t he from the Academy and Mark Little who was a 1st team player before we brought Foley and Lweis Gobern before we brought Kightly.
