Hundreds of runners were pounding the streets of a Black Country town as they helped to raise vital funds for a heart charity.
More than 800 people took part in the Action Heart five mile run, starting and finishing from Dudley’s Russells Hall Hospital.
Supporters of all ages turned out to cheer on the participants, who included blind marathon runner Dave Heeley.
The run was started by Dudley’s deputy mayor Pat Martin.
Organisers are still counting up the sponsorship money, but hope to reach their target of £25,000.
Among those taking part were company director Rob Hawthorne, aged 34, his wife Julie, 38, and their eight-year-old daughter Lauren.
The family were raising cash for the Rob Hawthorne Action Heart Fund, set up after Mr Hawthorne, of County Park Avenue, Halesowen, had a heart attack five years ago
