Brunt unsure of the finish line

Albion head to Fulham with winger Chris Brunt admitting they have no idea how many points they will need to stay in the Premier League.
The Northern Ireland international reckons the tightest top-flight table in years makes it impossible to set a target to avoid relegation.
He said: “I don’t think we can set a target because we don’t know how many points we’ll need. You just don’t know. Any club below 10th place will still be looking over their shoulder and be worried about being dragged into the relegation zone.”
The Baggies go to Fulham looking to turn around their dismal away form, with Brunt optimistic.
He said: “The away form has been a problem but we got a decent point at Hull and, if we can get a few wins and draws in our away games, we know we’re capable of winning games at home.”
Albion travelled to London this evening to complete their preparations.
Brunt admits he and some of his teammates will spend the evening digesting the results from other matches, involving their rivals at the bottom of the Premier League table.
He said: “You can’t take your mind away from it. I don’t know if that’s a good or bad thing.
“You try to keep your attention away from it but, whenever I play on a Sunday, I watch results coming in on a Saturday.
“There will be a lot of that between now and the end of the season – maybe we don’t need that extra pressure but we have enough games coming up where we can get results.”
Albion will head into the fixture at Craven Cottage on the back of a four-day training break to Spain, designed as an escape from the icy conditions at their Great Barr training base.
Brunt reckons the visit to the Marbella region has helped bond the squad, with established players spending more time with January recruits Jay Simpson, Marc-Antoine Fortune, Juan Carlos Menseguez and Youssouf Mulumbu.
The midfielder hopes it has helped players to banish memories of the 3-2 home defeat by Newcastle in their last outing.
He said: “You get to know people a bit better. Everyone was there together and it gave us some more team spirit.
“We had training and there were times away from training where we could enjoy ourselves.
“When you get lads from France you expect them to speak mainly in French but most of the lads speak English – probably better than me.
“We reviewed a few little things from the season and discussed one or two things that can hopefully help us for the rest of the season.
“We got some decent training in, which will hopefully get us a decent result. Training had been stop-start here because of the snow, so it was good to go away.
“It will be tough for us at Fulham because they’ve only lost one at home. They’ve made some signings since then and lost a couple. We need to put our break to good use and take it from there.
“It was disappointing to lose to Newcastle. It was a game we could have got something from.
“Again, individual errors cost us. It would have been nice to get another game but maybe it gave us a chance to help us get over our mistakes.”
