The Walsall striker netted his first goal since October in Tuesday’s 3-2 defeat at Swindon Town to take his tally to six for the season.

Leeds visit the Banks’s Stadium, followed by leaders Leicester City on Tuesday, and Ibehre is all set to hit the scoring trail.

He said: “You know eventually you’re going to score and I’ll go on to score more and more and get back to playing how I want to play.

“Now I’ve done it I’ll go and score some more. When the opportunity comes you’ve got to take it and as long as I get chances I’ll be happy.”

Ibehre, who was 26 on Wednesday, also feels he will profit from the return of Sofiene Zaaboub.

The winger has claimed two assists in the last two games, leaving Ibehre excited at the prospect of linking up with the French-Algerian.

The striker said: “He’s looking fantastic – all of a sudden you get so many more crosses into the box and it’s looking a lot better.

“We have to just play it calm with the transformation with a new manager –  we’ll be alright.”

Thes clash with Leeds will be Chris Hutchings’ third game in charge of the Saddlers, after a draw with Hereford and defeat at Swindon.

But Ibehre is already seeing improvement and reckons it will not be long before the Saddlers are celebrating their first win under the new boss.

The former Leyton Orient hitman added: “It’s been positive and he’s brought some discipline back into the camp. Everyone is back on their game.

“You have to get back on your toes and that’s what we need. Someone comes in and you have to get straight into gear and maybe that was needed.”
