Hutchings welcomes quartet back

Thursday 29th January 2009, 11:05AM GMT.

MANAGER 9 TS 20Walsall boss Chris Hutchings has been handed a massive injury boost as he welcomes back his four crocked senior players.

Rhys Weston, Michael Ricketts, captain Stephen Hughes and Stephen Roberts will all train after recovering from their various knocks.

The four could all feature when Leeds visit the Banks’s Stadium on Saturday.

The new Saddlers manager has yet to see them train after his arrival last week, but is delighted to welcome back the key quartet, with Hughes and Roberts having been out for over a month.

He said: “They will all be training and that is a big plus for us. Obviously we will have to monitor their progress and see if anything happens after training today and tomorrow.

“They’ve worked really hard with Jon (Whitney, physio) and the most important thing is getting back in with us.”

I give it 2 weeks before one of Roberts and Hughes are injured again for more than one week. Decent enough players, just never going to stay fit.

….and therefore a waste of money for a club like Walsall. At least Chris Palmer isn’t always injured (although I’m sure some Walsall supporters wish he was!).

We need to bring in 3 players to ensure we don’t slip into a relegation battle (more if anyone is sold or leaves). Definitely a solid central defender, a central midfield player with prescence and a goal poacher. How many times have we put the ball into the opposition box and there is no-one there to take advantage?

We NEED Hughes and Westy back, partner westy with gerrard in the centre and keep taundry at right back and drop palmer for the boeriten, were badly missing hughes pressence in the middle with mattis teams wont walk through us so easily, will be good to see Ricketts back with Jabo up front.
