Escaping prisoners run into lamp-post

Two prisoners hand-cuffed together foiled their own escape plan when they collided with a pole in New Zealand.
CCTV footage captured the pair, attempting to run round either side of a pole in the North Island town of Hastings.
The two fugitives slammed into each other and fell to the ground, where they were taken back into custody.
The charge of attempted escape was added to the previous charges of assault and car theft.
