Protester set to join 999 crews

A campaigner who has called for better response times for ambulances answering emergency calls in Worcestershire is planning to spend an evening with crews on the front line.

Mrs Harriett Baldwin, prospective Conservative Parliamentary candidate for West Worcestershire, is planning to spend Saturday night with a crew in Pershore.

She says response times have been well below target since the closure of the Bransford Emergency Operations Centre in Worcester. Calls have been transferred to the West Midlands ambulance control centre at Brierley Hill.

Mrs Baldwin said that she was “looking forward” to her evening on the front line of the ambulance service and to hearing from paramedics and crews about their perspective on the problems.
