Yobs flee after Sedgley club raid

Yobs went on a wrecking spree at a Black Country golf range causing thousands of pounds of damage.
Stunned staff at Sedgley Golf Centre arrived at work to find all 19 automatic teeing machines had been smashed.
A resident living near the range in Sandyfields Road raised the alarm, after hearing loud noises coming from the site at around 3am yesterday.
But when police officers arrived the vandals, who also damaged a van belonging to the golf club, had already fled.
It is the second golf club to be hit by vandalism. The Express & Star reported last week how the green at Dudley Golf Club had been churned up by a motorbike rider.
Manager of Sedgley Golf Centre, David Cox, reckoned they had lost a morning’s business because they delay opening the centre.
The high-tech Powertee machines, worth around £10,000, were installed last year and Mr Cox believes it will cost several thousand pounds to fix them.
He added: “There has been some petty vandalism in the past but this was much more than kids dropping chewing gum and writing graffiti. It was an all-out attack on the golf range.”

I`m someone who enjoys an hour or two at this facility….And am one of hundreds who are just sickened by the mindless actions of the few that impact on so many of us…..I have another idea to rid OUR town of such low life. If ever they get caught they should be put in stocks in the middle of the driving range and every tax paying law abiding citizen of Sedgley sould take a few selctt clubs (preferably DRIVERS) and we should spend a whole day practicing our game on these pitifull little rats…1. They might think twice before doing it again.2. The center gets money for repair work. 3. And we get better at golf for next time we play STOCK GOLF!!!!

What on earth does the raising of the price of allotments have to do with this ? You cannot be trying to justify this act of idiocy can you?
These idiots would be just as likely to wreck a garden for children with learning difficulties so please do not paint this as some form of natural justice.

IM a regular at sedgley golf club and this just shows what mindless idiots we have on our door step!Thing is this town has a drug and drink probelem with youths and they all think there invincible until our goverment starts acting on lower level missuse our country will only get worse than it already is!

Pete. I wasn’t saying that the club deserved it BUT for all you know it could have been the 15 year old Grandkid of some old guy who lost his allotment after 40 years that did this as some sort of revenge. I am NOT saying its right IF that was the case I was just trying to view what had happened in the respect of why it happened. What goes around comes around I could say IF I was going to brutally honest! Have a nice day Pete!

I do agree with truth that what goes around comes around and you do seem like a very decent person, my comment may seem a little harsh in light of your thoughts. I can see what you are saying. trouble is I think we make excuses for people like this a little too easily. I was young and bored once but I would not have dreamed of doing this, or been able to sit down for a month if I did. You have a nice day too truth!
