A record-breaking Black Country athlete will take on his biggest challenge yet when he cycles from John O’Groats to Land’s End to raise money for charity.
Glyn Marston, of Shepherd Drive, New Invention, will clock up 100 miles a day when he kicks off his challenge on May 1.
But the 46-year-old will be making his trip even more interesting by cycling off route and adding an extra 300 miles to his trip.
Money raised will go to the Mayor of Walsall’s chosen charities, Golden Wishes and Walsall Hospice, as a way of thanking Councillor Tom Ansell for his support on previous fundraising missions. Delivery man Mr Marston started running to get fit after giving up smoking but went on to complete more than 60 marathons and 45 ultra distance marathons.
He also smashed the Guinness World Record for long distance running by spending seven days on a treadmill.
