Baggies boss pledges to attack United

Albion boss Tony Mowbray has challenged Albion to block Manchester United’s route to the record books by hitting the goal trail at the Hawthorns.
The Baggies stand between United and a new Premier League clean sheets record when the sides clash at the Hawthorns, but Mowbray believes his team can become the first in almost 1,000 minutes to score past Edwin Van der Sar.
United’s Dutch keeper needs to keep the scoresheet blank for 84 minutes to beat Petr Cech’s top flight record of 1,025 without conceding a goal -but the Baggies boss has other ideas.
He said: “It would be nice for us to score against them, to give our supporters something to get excited about. I’m sure they will enjoy the game anyway and they will be up for the game.
“Whatever team we put out on the pitch has to be competitive in the best way they can and hopefully give our fans enough to shout about and enjoy. Hopefully we can score a goal and hopefully that’s a winner.”
On-loan Arsenal youngster Jay Simpson will again lead the Albion attack against Sir Alex Ferguson’s side. Mowbray admits he has been excited by the 20-year-old’s impact.
He said: “We have only got six players who have ever played in the Premier League before and Jay Simpson is not one of them.”
