Ward a doubt for Reading trip

WOLVES V BARNSLEY 15 GD 13Stephen Ward has emerged as a fresh doubt for Wolves’ big clash at Reading.

Ward, who has recovered from a cracked shoulder, gashed his shin in training yesterday and had to have stitches.

Boss Mick McCarthy said: “Wardy was due to be back, but he’s got a cut on his shin. It’s quite a nasty one but he spoke to the doctor last night and he said he’s OK. He’ll want to play.”

Chris Iwelumo should be fine despite coming off with an ankle injury during Saturday’s FA Cup defeat against Middlesbrough.

But goalkeeper Carl Ikeme is again troubled by his back and won’t travel.
