Koren vows depleted Albion attack

ABION 29 SL 17Albion midifielder Robert Koren has insisted the Baggies will attack Manchester United despite the mounting injury list at the Hawthorns.

The Slovenia international believes his side will not compromise their positive approach, despite losing a host of potential first-team stars.

Captain Jonathan Greening became the latest to be sidelined during Saturday’s FA Cup draw with Burnley and the Baggies are also without a host of other players, including key performers Abdoulaye Meite and James Morrison.

But Koren is adamant they can still take the game to the European Champions in the eagerly anticipated Hawthorns clash.

He said: “We are always focused on ourselves and trying to play our style against whoever we play. We will not just defend against Manchester United, so it is a bit easier for them to play against us than against other teams.

“But we need to stick together and play our own style and hopefully they will not have a good day and maybe we can get some points.

“We are doing really well at home at the moment. In the last five games at home we have won three and got two draws in the FA Cup.

“That’s really good and hopefully we will continue with those good results at home in front of our fans. They have been great this season and hopefully we can get some points on Tuesday night.”

Greening limped off with a knee injury before half-time against Burnley and his absence could open the way for Koren to return to his preferred central midfield role.

But the Slovenian star reckons his club skipper will be sorely missed if his absence is prolonged.

Koren said: “His injury isn’t looking good, which is bad news for the team..
