It’s been almost two decades, but now Black Country rockers Ned’s Atomic Dustbin are looking forward to reuniting on stage in Wolverhampton.

All five original members are taking to the stage for the Re:United concert at the Wulfrun Hall on May 23.

It has been 19 years since the band last performed at the venue, which singer Jonn Penney is now spokesman for. The band started in 1987 and went their separate ways in 1995. But in 2007, Sony/BMG invited the band to write the track list for a new compilation of their Sony recordings and it got them back in touch.

Jonn, aged 40, who still lives in Stourbridge, said today: “I’m absolutely dying to play in Wolverhampton again. It’s always been our spiritual home.

“I’m still as supple as I was – I might need to warm up for just a little bit longer.”
