Time to map out a plan for Villa's future

Fortune delight at Albion move
Friday 16th January 2009, 11:47AM GMT.
Albion new-boy Marc-Antoine Fortune have promised to repay the club for helping him live his Premier League dream.
The Frenchman, who is hoping for his Baggies debut against Middlesbrough, believes he will be suited perfectly to English football. The 27-year-old has joined on loan from Nancy for the rest of the season.
He said: “I have realised my dream to be part of the Premier League. I’ve watched West Brom on TV and I saw the last game against Aston Villa and I like the way they play.
“I came here because as a striker I can see I will get chances to score. The Premier League is faster than the French league but I think my game will be suited to England.
“I’m strong and quick and I try to be a striker who works a lot for the team. I don’t have a goals target but I just want to help the club stay in the Premier League. Once West Brom said they really wanted me I wasn’t interested in any other clubs.
“I agree with the way Tony Mowbray wants to play football. I enjoyed training yesterday. It was a pleasure to train with good players. You have to battle for places at every club and I’m ready to fight.”
Fortune, who was today awaiting international clearance before being given the green light for a debut tomorrow, has already found a familiar face to help him settle, in the form of summer signing Abdoulaye Meite.
He said: “I played against Abdoulaye in France and I know him. I’m sure he will help me settle in and he has already shown me the way things are done around here. That’s nice for me.
“I can’t wait to play now. I’m looking forward to the atmosphere of Premier League games and the big stadiums.”
Fortune has dreamed of playing in England since he began playing football in French Guyana.
He said: “I started playing in the National League with Angouleme when I was 20 years old. My dream was to play football so I had a lot of trials with French teams when I was in Guyana.
“Angouleme took me on. I knew that if I worked hard and never gave up I would realise my dream of playing in the Premier League.”

If his scoring is as good as his attitude we have got ourselves a gem.

He does seem to have an excellent attitude and seems as though he’s going to work his socks off. A bit of good fortune in front of goal and we’ll easily stay up.

He certainly “talks the talk”!! Let’s hope he and Oh Jay can strike up a partnership quickly!!

there noway hes guna be help our team, if nancy have let him go and they play in the french prem (which is poor apart from maybe 3 teams)and which is record was 1 goal in 19 appearances which is poor even for a midfeilder this shows his not an out n out striker, jay simpson and bednar are both better players than him, if he was coming in to our team with say 10 goals in 19 it shows his a goal scorer n then id be more excited

12 – If he’d scored 12 goals in 19 games, he wouldn’t be coming to the Albion on loan.
I’m sure Bednar & Simpson will be first choice forwards, but you need back up & Moore & Beattie don’t provide that at the moment.
