Children at a school in Wolverhampton took a break from their desks when stars of the city’s pantomime dropped in to see them.
Television’s Jack Montgomery, who is currently starring as Peter Pan at the Grand Theatre, and co-star Isobel Hathaway, known to theatre audiences as Tinkerbell, were at East Park Infants School in Hollington Road.
They were invited along because Year 2′s topic is entertainment and they have been looking at theatre as part of their work.
Year 2 teacher Nicky Thacker said: “The children were very excited to see Peter Pan and Tinkerbell. They asked them lots of questions and wrote the answers down.
“In class we are going to look at their answers and write up an account of the day.”
Pupil Bethany Harris, aged six, said: “I liked meeting Tinkerbell. She was cool because she came in on roller skates.”
Youngster Reece Westwood, aged six, added: “I had a really good day. My favourite character was Peter Pan and I’m going to see the pantomime and I’m very excited.”
Peter Pan runs at the Grand Theatre until January 25 and also stars television actor Paul Nicholas as Captain Hook and The Krankies as pirates.
Jack Montgomery, who played young Captain Jack Harkness in sci-fi series Torchwood, took on the role of Peter Pan after Aston Merrygold was forced to pull out because he was appearing in X Factor as part of boy band JLS.
